This drinking den offers a riot of both flavour and colour. No one could accuse Black Dice of minimalism – the bar’s lavish interior mixes jewel-coloured crushed velvet, densely patterned carpet, and a mirrored bar, all topped off with a ceiling that’s encrusted with black glitter.

Guitars and gold records on the wall combine to make it a hangout fit for a 1960s rockstar: they list Rod Stewart, The Rolling Stones and The Clash as their aesthetic touchstones. But behind this joint’s riotous inspiration – and suitably jumping soundtrack – there’s a serious cocktail menu.

There’s a mix of retro favourites like the rye-based Black Flag, which mixes whiskey, sherry, and charred pineapple, and creative long drinks perfect for slow savouring. The Rhubarb and Ginger Negroni offers a fruity twist on the dark and bitter cult favourite, while there’s an innovative rock ‘n’ roll twist to their frankincense infused Frank Zacapa.

Keeping up the music theme, there are also live performance nights with a retro spin, including a recent New Orleans rhythm and blues night. Tucked away off Regent’s Street, this central London haunt lets you travel to an age of swinging sixties decadence.
